The delightful shags are our smallest, and I have s oft spot for them, as when I was fishing and cleaning there were several birds who would come up to the side of my boat to beg, and would accept small fillets from my hand, wriggling with excitement as they took the offering. Their breeding plumage is quite handsome, with an emerald green cheek plate and an errectcrest
