On Monday Shane from Tansley Electrical arrived to install our final 3 kw of solar panels to bring both inverter arrays up to full capacity.

Days are shortening quickly, especially noticeable since we went back onto NZ standard time. And although we’ve had a lot of lovely fine days on Stewart Island, it is definitely cooler.
Last October Rakiurs Hertzoff asked me if I would take a podcaster to Ulva Island. And so I found myself hosting Jim Metzner.
I’ve been carting water for our lawn and vegie garden since early December. Technically Stewart Island is temperate rain forest. We actually don’t have a particularly high annual rainfall, these last 10 years averaging around 1.43 m.
