Sylvan Cove, Shipbuilders Cove, Cooks Arm & Seal Creek
This group of names are perhaps the most confusing, as the original names have all been moved "one step to the left" and so for clarity I have grouped all on one pageSylvan Cove ….. A descriptive name, appears on William Stewarts chart of 1809

South Arm ……. appears on William Stewarts chart of 1809, and appears to encompass right to the head of the arm
the cove at the head of South Arm renamed on the 1850 Acheron survey to
Sylvan Cove
Seal Creek ……. appears on William Stewarts chart of 1809,
renamed on the 1850 Acheron survey to
Cooks Arm …… named for William Cook, a shipbuilder resident here in the late 1820’s
Seal Creek is on the upper left, and Cooks shipyard to the upper right
